Seriously, people go friggin insane over her ... people from high school and before .... I have never ever seen a phenomena similar with any other living person. In most ways, this screams scary because of the extremes that these boys seem to go. I am happy that I found out that we won't be in times square ... but off at some event in a bart or something... much better because standing outside for that amount of time ... not so appealing. I did tell my mom that I will most likely not be looking at many jobs because I just don't see an effort on her part .... I will still look but not with the fervor that was this summer. There is only a slim chance I would even move back to this area. It was only just recently that I could even consider Seattle as home ... I don't know if it is a permanent home ... but its my home (and about the only one I have had) .. I do love my apartment ... and most of all I love the people that I bring to it. That is what makes it warm and inviting, the memories of friends, the laughter, and sometimes the tears not to mention the hushes whispers of gossip and catty comments. This little apartment with the view to die for is the place I almost lived the longest ... at least consistently in my life ... kinda sad but its been 6 years now Strange to think, I have never had sex in it .. sure I have fooled around with many boys in it ... but no sex. So that is my life ... time is quickly dwindling away ... soon Christmas, then New Years New York, and then Columbus and Cleveland ... and then home. I am now less than a month away from going home. stars

take my hand and know that I won't give in because I have weathered worse and will do so again [20 Dec 2009|01:02am] forrestunknown [ mood | cheerful ] [ music | "Won't Go Home Without You" - Maroon 5 ] Wow hanging out with 3 peeps from high school, brought back a flood of memories .... and the reminiscing ... was interesting. Luckily, stalker Jason was not one of the people involved .. that will be hmmm whats the proper word ... well about now slightly scary .. he may actually bring out bitch mode. Well it looks like I will be in NYC over the new year ... impromptu road trip sprung on me today ... so Rita and I will be hitting the road to go and see Nadiya. And then the following week I hope to spend a weekend in Columbus ... so well maybe this trip wont be so bad after all. My mom is getting over her initial treatment downturn, though an infusion will be happening early next week, but we were able to play a round of cards. So tomorrow, I will apply for some more jobs ... I really don't know want to ... and I can't even say that I will accept if I do get one ... thats how on the fence I am. Though she is my mom and I love her with all of my heart ... I am not sure if I can make this sacrifice ... of course ... if she had stopped smoking, then I would make a stronger effort, but her going through a pack a day well that doesn't motivate me whatsoever. Its cold, its harsh, but she promised more than a few months ago that if things were reading good in her charts she would give it up ... she hasn't and it was about then that all my want to move back vanished. Words and promises are a strong strong bond for me, its why I am cautious of what I say, staying more in the vague when I don't want to be pinned down. But snow ... light snow ... but snow .... it fell I played I was happy ... life became a little more better. And when there aren't clouds in the midnight sky, you can see Orion clear as day, the air glistens with cold, dry burning cold that cuts in almost a pleasurable way ... at least at first .... after about 40 mins then its not so cute. 2 | stars

I am already counting the time to go back to Seattle. It was easier watching from a distance, because I would come home not long after a treatment and see her at her worse. She is so thin .... so terribly thin and aging at an incredible rate ... I see my grandmother so strongly within her facial features now. Its hard for her to keep food down or even find the motivation to eat ... a few spoonfuls or this or that. But such is life, she sleeps a lot, and I check on her, sometimes just to make sure she is breathing, to look to remember to store this semblance of peace. The dog and I are having good times .. thats a saving grace .... and soon I will be visiting with people so it will get better ... but I doubt that will change my countdown. One interesting tidbit .... found out that my favorite gran was a former pill popper ... omg what ... but yep back in the 60's ... I was loving it when I found out as well as some other details I didn't know about. Who knows maybe more dish will fallout during the various conversations with relatives and family friends? So life is quiet ... even more quiet in Ohio in the country ... but there are stars ... lots of stars and frigid cold .... without snow. With snow I could deal .... without well it just makes me pissy. stars

Sugar mom to be! [18 Dec 2009|01:38am] sugar_gliders [888mph] [ mood | contemplative ] Hi! Bf and I are saving up money to adopt a sugar glider. We already have a cage: it belonged to our late lovebird (we don't want anymore birds: losing that little guy was too much for us), but I think it's great for a sugar glider. It's 2 feet across, almost 2 deep and more than 3 feet high (I think I have the metric conversion right) and it's on a stand. The problem is that the bars are vertical (wire, about 1/3 inch apart), so it doesn't allow much climbing. It has several birch perches all around the place, that I build myself, and toys made of wood and cotton rope. I know the rope is not a good idea, so I'm discarding them. As for vets: the vet clinic near my place, where I take my dog and my cat is great and has a wonderful exotics vet, that is on-call 24/7. So first question: what's the most sugar-glider friendly way to clean the cage? 2nd: what toys should I be getting and how many perches? Keep in mind that a) I like to build things myself, b) I'm an interior designer, so things have to be good for the little guy and pretty for me, c) the cage has a higher middle section and slanted "roofs" (basically is roughly shaped like a victorian house). 3rd: for a nest I'm leaning towards fabric pouches, so what would be the best fabric for those? 4th: most of the portuguese sites I've been to (I'm portuguese, btw) say that baby food with veggies and chicken is a good supplement. If that's the case, does that provide the little guy with enough protein, or do I still need to give him/her bugs? 5th: How should I introduce a nosey Beagle and the tamest Persian in the world to a sugar glider? Mind you, I've just started investigating what I need, so feel free to educate me, if I said something awful. There are still a few months to go before we get our new friend. [14 Dec 2009|09:58am] mankelly Well, Saturday was my grandmother's 100th Birthday. Yes, 100. Needless to say, we have a big family gathering to celebrate the milestone. In the afternoon she was cracking jokes and showing her wit. Then when she got to the party and saw everyone she started to cry as she thanked everyone for coming. It was incredibly moving. As it was, we all had a great time. It was nice to reconnect with family that I haven't seen in a while, even if I was in town for only 24 hours. At any rate, here's a picture of us together. She doesn't always remember my name, but she always knows me as 'The Boy'. While I may not be her blood grandson, we've come to accept each other as blood anyway. And of course the obligatory snow photo from the Buffalo airport. Other than that, everything seems to be going well. I need to figure out what I'm doing for Christmas gifts for my parents, but that's nothing new. I'm horrible with gifts. I still have to work on some other things on my list, but I'm making progress. I'm off today, so hopefully that'll give me time to get working on a few of these things. At any rate, my boring entry is over. Aren't y'all glad I'm posting such wonderful posts again? :-P 8 | stars
