I had THE most incredible time last night... Steve is such an amazing guy. I'm truly glad that I met him and that we actually have a connection. Even better, I'm glad I made no type of long term commitment to that little fiasco at the beginning of the summer... even better is that karma is now coming into play and kicking people in the ass *satisfied grin*

Anyways, so last night started off kinda shaky... my grandmother, being the busibody into my life that she is, plants herself on the front step as Steve gets to my house. I'm trying to make a swift getawy because I'd already spilt enough to her... and I'd only told her I was going out! She screams from the front step 'Hi there! I'm the grandmother.'

I'm 23 and she managed to embarss me more in the first 5 seconds than I would myself all night.

I just rolled my eyes at him and we got in my car (yes, I drove. Gotta make the Mass boy experience a real Rhody driver!). I tried explaining the 'my grandmother runs my life' thing, but he was just laughing about 'how cute she was.'

Shouldn't he have said that about me?

Anyways... so we get to the tattoo place (we went to Federal Hill for those who care... great work and staff, WAY overpriced!) and spent a couple hours there... we both got done, which was really cool, so I didn't have to look like the only ass limping around in pain. Granted, his was on his arm, so he wasn't limping, but whatever.

Then we went to Dave & Busters where we had some dinner, a few beers and played games for about 3 hours... he got me a balloon rose from the balloon lady (she goes around and does really cool balloon animals) and I folded him a heart from the placemat.

You can continue barfing now :-)

We walked over to the midway and had some fun playing random games and winning random stuff... I got a huge dog from the giant claw machine and we got Shane a Scooby Doo bobble head for his dresser. I wanted to get Shane a train whistle to play with when he was at his mom's, but then decided that that would be kinda mean.

I'm too nice sometimes.

Then we left and drove back to my house, where we made out a a half hour in front of my house. *cough* Gave the neighbors a good show. LoL

Then, I get up this morning, and my grandmother starts going at me...

'what's his last name?'
'I dunno.'
'How can you be dating someone and not know their last name?'
'It was our first date.'
'oh.'
*silence as I continue washing out the gliders' dishes*

J. C.! What is she going to do; run a background check? Ugh. But I will be seeing him again, hopefully soon. Our (ok, mine) work schedules suck, and our days off aren't coinciding. And it's not like he live right down the street and I can stop by after work... he's an hour away... half hour from work.

*sigh* But i like him... and like Bree said, I think I'll keep him :-)

Yea, it's a real update!! LoL... you all know how great I am about those *eye roll*

So, not much has really happened. I'm meeting Steve tomorrow, getting a tattoo tomorrow, going to Warped in less than a month and the show opens in like 2 and a half weeks.

Woot.

So the real fun: Yesterday was, I think, one of the greatest days of my life... While at work, not one, but TWO absolutely crazy things happened. First, I managed to be assured that my hands will in fact be getting a pair of Warped Tour 10th Anniversary tickets... for free. No strings attatched, no showing of the boobs, no nothing. Since my company, Cingular, and a phone brand that we carry, Samsung, are sponsoring the show, the Samsung guys are getting a bunch, and while they were visiting my store, the reps told me they'd give me tix.

Score.

Second, and this is the best, was that I met famous people. See, Bree came running over to me like, 'guess who I just met'.. all shaky and holding a piece of paper in her hands. She turns it towards me and the only legible thing on the paper is the words 'the used.' Well, lo and behold, The Used was in my mall, shopping on their day off in between shows. They have a show tonight at the Tweeter Center, and just popped in. I hunted them down in the music store and got Bert's autograph and chatted it up with him and Jeph and a couple other guys for a bit. THEN, Quinn came out of the store, all confused, and we stopped him and talked for a bit. He signed my business card too.

Hawt.

And now I'm on cloud nine because of this.

So I talked to Steve last night for three and a half hours. I don't think that I've ever been on the phone that long since high school.

But it was wonderful. I feel really really good about this, but I can't place why. I don't want to rush things, but he seems so perfect that I don't want to let him go.

You know those conversations that are really about nothing, but about everything at the same time? Yea. That's what it was like. And it drives me crazy that we still won't be meeting until next Friday. That's 10 days from now. I'm going to die.

Speaking of, I'm at a loss for what to wear (didn't you all know that that was coming?). We're going and getting tattoos and then to Dave & Busters... luckycharms3 suggested a skirt, since the tattoo I'm getting will be on my ankle and easier access (to my ankle... get your mind out of the gutter *points finger*), but I dunno how brilliant that is, since I'm a kid at heart and will more than likely be dragging him around D&B like it's my job. *sigh*

And with the two closests and two dressers, I feel as if I have nothing to wear :-\

So I don't want to get all flustered and girly, but I can feel it happening. And it makes me sick. I'm not a big 'let me be romantic and mushy' kind of person, though I do appreciate a good shot of romance every so often.
I'm a member of the MySpace community, which is basically a place for networking. Kyle (the same 'my mom has silicone boobies' Kyle) told me to join because I (and I quote) needed more friends. So I've been collecting people here and there, for the most part, people who I actually know.

Then the other day, I get this message in my inbox from a man with the user name 'BIG DADDY.' Great, I think, here's going to be some random guy who says something like

'Hey, nice site, wanna fuck?'

In actuality, it only said 'hey, whats up? how are ya?'

Way to jump to conclusions Nicole!

So I get back to, really just for curiosity/boredom sake (at work, ya know how it goes) and we've actually kind of hit it off. We talked on the phone for a few minutes, could have gone longer, but he had to work in the morning, so we hung up. And I spent my day off exchanging messages with him. Basically, we've piqued (is that the right word to use here?) each others interest enough that he asked me out on a date. A real live, honest-to-god-not-like-a-frat-boy-looking-to-get-laid-date, date. Like tattoos, dinner and drinks. (yes, we're going to get a tattoo on our first date. But how unconventional is that? I think it's cool )

His background: His name is Steve, he's a 29 year old, he works at a race track, he's got a three year old son, Shane, who's gorgeous, and Shane's mom broke up with him about 9 months ago. Oh, and he lives on the East side of Boston.

Am I crazy? Like, is this really a stretch? I don't know. I'm not one to rush things; in fact, for once it seems like I'm the slowpoke here. I think it's my turn to be happy, but I still feel like I don't deserve it. And I don't want to mess things up prematurely.

Which I probably will.

Suicide: The Permanent Solution To A Temporary Problem
Ask the 25-year-old who tried to electrocute himself. He lived. But both his arms are gone.

What about jumping? Ask John. He used to be intelligent, with an engaging sense of humor. That was before he leapt from a building. Now, he's brain-damaged and will always need care. He staggers and has seizures. He lives in a fog. But, worst of all, he KNOWS he used to be normal.

What about pills? Ask the 12-year-old with extensive liver damage from an overdose. Have you ever seen anyone die of liver damage? You turn yellow. It's a hard way to go.

What about a gun? Ask the 24-year-old who shot himself in the head. Now he drags one leg, has a useless arm and has no vision or hearing on one side. He lived through his "foolproof" suicide. You might too.

But... Who will clean your blood off the carpet or scrape your brains from the ceiling? Commercial cleaning companies may refuse that job--but SOMEONE has to do it.

Who will have to cut you down from where you hung yourself or identify your bloated body after you've drowned? Your father? Your mother? Your wife? Your son?

The carefully worded "loving" suicide note is of no help. Those who loved you will NEVER completely recover. They'll feel regret and an unending pain.

Suicide is contagious. Look around your family. Look closely at the 4 year old playing with his cars on the rug. Kill yourself tonight, and he may do it ten years from now.

You DO have other choices. There are people who can help you through this crisis. Call a hotline. Call a friend. Call your minister or priest. Call a doctor or hospital. Call the police. They will tell you that there's hope. Maybe you'll find it in the mail tomorrow. Or in a phone call this weekend. But what you're seeking could be just a minute, a month, or a day away.

You say you don't want to be stopped? Still want to do it? -Well, then, I may see you in the psychiatric ward later. And we'll work with whatever you have left.

Remember: Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
